TECHNICAL DATA SHEET (TDS) & PROCESS GUIDE Standard: AISI P21 / Daido NAK80 / JIS Age-Hardening
1. Chemical Composition (wt%)
| Element | C | Si | Mn | Cu | Ni | Al | Fe |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Specification | 0.08–0.20 | 0.20–0.60 | 1.30–1.70 | 0.80–1.20 | 2.80–3.20 | 0.80–1.20 | Balance |
2. Welding Parameters: Laser vs. TIG
⚡ Laser Welding 0.15–0.6 mm
| Preheat Temp | No preheat required |
| Pulse Power | 110–200 A |
| Shielding Gas | Argon ≥99.99% (3–5 L/min) |
| HAZ Impact | Minimal HAZ, no pinholes after polishing |
🔥 TIG Welding 0.8–2.4 mm
| Preheat Temp | 100°C – 200°C recommended |
| Welding Current | 35–110 A (DCEN) |
| Shielding Gas | Argon ≥99.99% (8–12 L/min) |
| Post-Heat | Ageing at 500°C for 2h optional |
💡 Key Repair & Operation Instructions:
- Mirror Polishing & No Halo: NAK80 is an age-hardening steel containing Cu-Al-Ni. Deposited weld metal naturally reaches 37–43 HRC, completely matching parent metal polishability to prevent boundary halos/line shadows under high-grade optical mirror finishing.
- EDM & Texturing Performance: Uniform microstructure ensures seamless Spark Erosion (EDM) and consistent photo-etching texturing response across the weld boundary.
