TECHNICAL DATA SHEET (TDS) & PROCESS GUIDE Standard: Premium DIEVAR / DIN 1.8418 (Equiv. Uddeholm 8418)
1. Chemical Composition (wt%)
| Element | C | Si | Mn | Cr | Mo | V | Fe |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Specification | 0.35–0.40 | 0.10–0.30 | 0.40–0.60 | 5.00–5.40 | 2.20–2.50 | 0.50–0.70 | Balance |
2. Hardness & Welding Parameters
⚡ Laser Welding 0.2–0.6 mm
| Preheat Temp | Room Temp – 100°C |
| Pulse Power | 120–220 A |
| Shielding Gas | Argon ≥99.99% (3–6 L/min) |
| HAZ Impact | Ultra-narrow HAZ, preserving supreme weld ductility |
🔥 TIG Welding 0.8–2.4 mm
| Preheat Temp | 320°C – 400°C Mandatory |
| Welding Current | 40–120 A (DCEN) |
| Shielding Gas | Argon ≥99.99% (8–12 L/min) |
| Post-Heat Relief | Slow cooling followed by immediate tempering at 500°C |
💡 Key Repair & Operation Instructions:
- Unrivaled Resistance to Heat Checking: Low silicon (~0.2% Si) and optimized Cr-Mo-V chemistry provides far superior ductility and hot yield strength compared to standard H13.
- Preheating Control (TIG): Strict preheating at 320°C–400°C before TIG welding is mandatory to eliminate cold cracking along fusion boundaries.
